Last night Alan Thomas and myself (Chris Ogle) had a meeting to review the software we are using to manage the fixtures and results. This meeting took place as a practice session organised with Howard Davies at West Herts was cancelled allegedly because a Line dancing group had booked the hall. Coincidentally England were playing Holland last night....Mmmm Howard?
Now I think we would all congratulate Alan on the software he has produced which I'm sure you would agree is better than most leagues in the country have and certainly when combined with our new Blog / Website we are much better able to communicate what is going on than many others. The meeting was to see how feasible it might be to put the results updating service online, so that we are not reliant on good old Geoff Bax to manage all the input, and there are a few options which we might be able to deploy for the 2010/11 season.
Some of you might have noticed there have been some changes on the web site of late. As we have decided to not publish a handbook this year, we are putting what would have been in the handbook on the site. You will see a yellow button on the home page that will take you a secondary page where you can find all the handbook details listed for you.
We have also added a Quick Contact section that just lists all the team contacts on one simple page. This has a print button so that you can make this available to team members or for those without access to the Internet.
Check out also the Results and my Fixtures buttons which takes you straight into those sections easily, We will be putting a print button on these pages too so that again these can be easily distributed to your teams.
Hope everyone has dusted off their bats and are gearing up for some pre-season training, Stuart assures me that Tuesdays at Queens will start to get busy towards the start of the season, so get down there and practice... don't be embarassed in the first match of the season !!
