In Div Three, Audit ‘B’ continued their good start by easily beating Watling ‘D’ 8-0. Their team of Tom Sapundziev, Dave Steuart, and Gordon Hitchman only dropped two legs during the match. The youngsters of Meerkats also did well in beating a much more experienced team, Newts, 5-3. Ishan Bairoliya still has 100% for M’s.
In the Premier Div, West Watford ‘A’, now playing at Watford Boys Grammar School’s new table tennis academy, started well there with victory over Bats, 6-2. Roger Pyle and Chris Ogle their stars. Abbots Langley had the misfortune to have Mick Lowens injured during their match with Dolphins and he had to concede his three games, Abbots losing 5-3. Fullerians top the table after their 7-1 win vs. Cougars. Glen Wilkes and Trafford Coker unbeaten.
In Div One, Oxhey Hall ’A’ still have only one point after losing 7-1 to Watling ’A’, although the scores indicate it was a hard fought match. Andrew Meisel and Graham Roland both 100% for Watling. Gazelles lost 5-3 to Eagles, having to concede the doubles having run out of time; resulting from not starting the match on time. Paul Phillips of Watling ’B’ who had only lost one game this season, was the thorn in the Post Office side, but could not prevent them winning 6-2. Les Leech unbeaten for P.O. was Paul’s only loss.
In Div Two, Iguanas and Hounds are level at the top, both with 15pts. Hounds with the loss of only three legs, beat Oxhey Hall ’B’, 8-0. Gerry Evans, Karl Seddon, and Mitch Haynes the winning team. Andrew Goldstein starred for Watling ‘C’ in their 6-2 victory over Jaguars. Andy Wilson also was undefeated for Kangaroos, who drew with Audit ‘A’.
