Sounds improbable? Well it happened on Thursday 28th at Queens.
Eagles Div 1 V Lions Div 3 (Handicap Cup)
It was a great match with some games going very close. The star of the evening was the Lions new signing Abe Jacobs who managed to take a game off Jamie Banfield.
Ian Banfield who was carrying an injury still managed to put up a great show.
Eagles 260 points
Lions 121 points + 120 points handicap =241
Losing by 19 points, which equates to less than I point per game, Great handicapping Gordon.
On another note, looking at the rules for playing handicap matches I feel that the rule regarding who wins on the event of a tie seems to be wrong. Eagles having already given us 120 points! if we had drawn with the them we would of won the match.
I as the underdog on most of these matches would be happy to concede the draw to the those who are already giving points away.
What do you all think?
(Have I opened a can of worms? Send me some for my next trip to the canal!)
BOBxx Wyard (captain of the Lions)

hi bob, i remember this was very briefly mentioned at the game.
i can see your point of view but equally i can see why the underdog should have the benefit of a draw by playing well enough to get that draw.
i cant decide. Either way, if there was ever a drawn game it would be somewhat disappointing for the nominated loser to lose when they havnt actually lost!
Anyway if OUR teams play again and draw the match, then we can discuss it for an hour or two and after reaching a decision just sneakily add a point to the elected winners. :)
The best option might be to allow both teams a bye to the final or maybe pistols at dawn, or a ping pong shoot out..a nominated player from each team has 5 back hands and 5 forehands to aim at the basketball hoop thing.
What if neither team has a handicap and it is a draw? I think a replay is the solution.
By the way, idiot! Swans and ducks want bread, not worms.

What??? Two sides were both actually able to get a team out for the handicap cup rather than one of the sides conceding!! Is this a first???

Not sure what you mean here but yes, we played the game cos rather than concede I showed great support for geof bax and the watford league and played with great fortitude and heroism to overcome the pain barrier.
Still nobody has been able to explain that bax and the watford league thing. bunch of bone heads!
The blog is getting boring again i think!!
