Finally the toughest test of the weekend was Cleveland, fielding a strong team and expected to do well. In a tight match with four games going the full distance Herts came out on top 7-3 with Jimmy, Glen and Tony Murrell picking up 4 singles with both Jimmy and Glen losing to the Cleveland number one and Janice Laing losing her 100%.  Herts impressively pick up the two mixed doubles and the mens doubles to secure the points.

The results leave Herts sitting on top of the division a point ahead of Cheshire and Yorkshire and ready to push for a place in the Premier division. The second weekend is in April so Herts have a long time to prepare....but so do the others!
